| The
Southern Oregon area is known for its beauty and diversity.
Just a few miles from the hotel, you'll find such breathtaking attractions
as the Rogue River, Umpqua National Forest, Pearsoney Falls, Avenue of
the Boulders, and Mt. Ashland. The pride of Southern Oregon is Crater Lake,
shown below, which President Theodore Roosevelt called one of the wonders
of the world. (And of course when he came to visit Crater Lake, he stayed
at the Prospect Hotel!)
For the outdoor enthusiast, the Prospect area offers rafting, boating, camping, hiking, bicycling, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, horseback riding and more. Links to area activities can be found on our Links Page.
While
in Prospect, experience the community spirit by attending one of our famous
summer festivals: The Bluegrass Festival in July,
the Prospect Annual Fly-In (featuring vintage
airplanes) in late July, and the Prospect Jamboree
and Timber Carnival in late August. |
